Music at SUMC

Bless you for showing interest in the many different music ministries that are

available at the Solon United Methodist Church.  Music plays an important

part in our worship experiences, and we have a passion for making our music glorify God. I hope that you will consider sharing your musical gifts and talents with our church.

CHANCEL CHOIR

If you like to sing, this is the place for you.  The Chancel Choir sings a wide variety of musical styles.  From classical to contemporary, this ensemble sings multiple times per month and rehearses weekly. It is open to everyone who loves to sing.  Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings,

7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Celebration Bells

Prefer ringing to singing?  The tradition of playing pitched bells has

evolved over the centuries into an art form of its own. This ensemble

performs twice a month during Sunday services. Rehearsals:

Sunday evenings, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Make a Joyful Noise Band

The praise team worships through more contemporary music during the 9:30 a.m. blended service.  Guitars, electric keyboards and rhythm combine

for an modern take on Christian music. If you like to sing contemporary

Christian music or if you play an instrument, you are welcome to join us. Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings, 6:30- 7:30 p.m. in room 102 of the main building.

Instrumentalists and Soloists

Do you play a musical instrument? Are you a vocalist? There are opportunities

to share!  You can play a solo as a special music offering, or to accompany the choir or small group.  Or sing your favorite piece by yourself or as part of a group.
